LABA is the National Laboratory for New Jewish Culture, an innovative arts and culture initiative of the 14th Street Y. LABA’s Guests will feature a group of distinguished artists exhibiting pieces in different visual mediums. Artists included in the exhibition include Tirtzah Bassel, Aimee Burg, Maria Cabo, Lourdes Correa, Keren Cytter, Karni Dorell, Tamar Ettun, Hadassa Goldvicht, Leor Grady, Tamar Hirschl, Itamar Jobani, Shay Kun, Yael Rechter, Yaniv Segalovich and Rona Yefman. The exhibition is curated by Tzili Charney.
LABA’s Guests will run from January 7th to 28th, 2009 at The 14th Street Y Gallery. The exhibition and opening reception are free and open to the public. The 14th Street Y is located at 344 East 14th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues. (Subway: L to 1st Avenue; 4, 5, 6, Q, N, R, or W trains to Union Square)

The newly renovated 14th Street Y provides Manhattan’s East Village residents with a variety of community programs including a Fitness Center, Aquatics Program, a Preschool, Baby & Toddler classes, After School Programs, Sports Leagues and Arts & Culture events. The Y is part of The Educational Alliance, a non-profit Jewish agency that serves people of all ages from every ethnic, religious, and socio-economic background.
