Masquerade
In just a few short years, the Berlin-based artist has produced a singular oeuvre comprising dozens of films, works of fiction, and, more recently, theatrical pieces created with her new company, D.I.E. Now (Dance International Europe Now).
Keren Cytter's videos have a distinctly literary flavour. Although her medium is tape and she makes countless references to cinematic and televised forms, her scripts often involve long soliloquies and multiple voice-overs that would seem more comfortable unravelling over the pages of a novel. The subject matter of her work is the stuff of relationships loss, loving, longing, friendship, betrayal much of it culled from her own or her friends' lives.' - frieze.com

2009 was a very busy year for Keren Cytter, who participated in exhibitions at Manifesta, the Venice Biennale, the New Museum and X-Initiative, and premiered in performances at the Tate Modern and Performa. Cytter won the Vo
"History in the Making or the Secret Diaries of Linda Schultz" is a new live theatre piece by Israeli artist Keren Cytter. John Webber, a political activist, and Linda Schultz, a graphic designer, awake one morning to discover they have each been subject to an unexpected and radical sex change. The repercussions of this event have a domino effect on society, sexual politics, and personal identity, ultimately leading to revolution, as Cytter playfully tells the story via film, language, imagery, choreography, performance and light projections.
The show will include drawings and two new video works:
"Four Seasons", 2009
"Les Ruissellements du Diable", 2008
